Philip Allan's NAUTILUS LIBRARY series page at camberpete.co.uk. This page provides links to other Nautilus books for sale. The 'Nautilus Library', begun in the 1920s, and built up to more than thirty volumes. Volumes are 115 mm. wide; 175 tall and about 18 mm. thick. Weight unwrapped approximately 220 grams.

Smuggling Days and Smuggling Ways by H. N. Shore was first published in 1892 and first published as a Philip Allan Nautilus Library in 1929. In this very interesting book containing an enormous amount of historic and local detail is included a sketch map of the continental entrepots and the corresponding English south coast smuggling centres.  The period covered is the 18th. and 19th. Centuries.

Condition

As common with all "Nautilus Library" volumes hard bound in blue cloth with bright gilt lettering to spine; top and bottom of spine a little rubbed, boards clean - corners sharp, front's nautilus decoration is bright. As usual side and bottom edges of page block rough cut. No inscriptions; no foxing - 256 pages all clean and bright. Condition VERY GOOD.

Dust wrapper chipped, taped, sunned with some loss. Condition: rates barely as GOOD and thats only because it is almost complete.
