Paste downs cracked at hinges but weave still intact. 466 pages are all clean and sound with very little foxing. 135 mm. x 185 x 50 mm.

This is the frontispiece of Admiral Cradock's " Whispers from the Fleet " entitled 'We're all alive !'.

This enlarged second edition of Admiral Cradock's " WHISPERS OF THE FLEET " pays more attention to gunnery than in the first smaller edition. He writes for the midshipmen of the period and there is much of general naval interest. As every student of the Great War knows, The Admiral and almost all his people perished after meeting the German Asiatic Squadron commanded by Admiral Graf Spee at Coronel in the early months of the war.

This book has been recently been reprinted in paperback and is much quoted as the source of much material on the Web. To give a very good idea of what is on offer in this book I have put the List of Contents on a separate page here !

The illustrations are listed below and left is a small image of the frontispiece " We're all alive !" and below to the right a small image of " Making the Punishment fit the Crime. "
